Does Jump ahead skip sponsors?
Sometimes, as a side effect. Jump ahead takes you to the next point most viewers fast forward to, and that point is often the end of a sponsor read. But you have to trigger it, it doesn't appear on every video, and it doesn't know what a sponsor is.
How to skip the sponsorship inside the video
You can seek manually, use community timestamps such as SponsorBlock, or use AI detection. SponsorSkip analyzes the video's captions and skips the sponsor read in Chrome; it never skips while YouTube's player is in its native ad state.

Is there a YouTube setting to remove sponsors?
No. YouTube has no setting that removes creator sponsor reads. Jump ahead, for Premium members, can sometimes move past them.
Do I need both Premium and a sponsor skipper?
Only if both kinds of interruption bother you. Premium removes YouTube's ads; a sponsor skipper removes the creator's ad reads. They don't overlap.
