99.99% skip precision.
In our September 15 test, 918.18 seconds of correctly skipped sponsor content and 0.08 seconds of incorrectly skipped editorial content gave 99.99% precision on scored time. SponsorSkip captured 95.55% of the known sponsor time; 42.76 seconds remained.
What we measured.
20 previously untested English videos from 20 channels, totaling 6 hours. The detector and AI-assisted caption reference were frozen before the run. Only cuts eligible for automatic skipping count; blocked cuts count as misses.
Uncertain reference time is excluded, including 62.65 seconds inside proposed automatic cuts. This is a caption-based test, not an independent human audio/video review or a head-to-head accuracy test of the other extensions.
Community timestamps can miss the cut.
Our August 24 caption audit found early starts, late ends and category conflicts in saved SponsorBlock references. For example, our review put the return to content in an OverSimplified video about 6 seconds before the recorded segment ended.
The start matters, too.
In a Johnny Harris video, our review identified roughly 39 seconds of editorial setup inside the recorded sponsor segment before the disclosure. SponsorSkip checks the transcript context when selecting its boundaries.
