Captions from YouTube
The extension retrieves the video’s available captions. After sign-in, SponsorSkip sends video captions, ID, title and channel name to our backend automatically. Matching saved results are reused; only new analyses are sent through Vercel AI Gateway to an AI provider.
Temporary transcript text
Pending jobs retain caption text so they can be processed. That temporary payload is removed after completion, final failure or expiry.
Reusable results
We save video IDs, transcript hashes, analysis versions and sponsor timings. Account usage records keep track of your analysis allowance and access.
Account and access
Supabase handles sign-in, account identifiers, subscription status, the analysis queue and saved results. Sign-in uses Google: Google shares your account ID, name, email address and profile picture with Supabase to create or sign in to your SponsorSkip account. SponsorSkip does not request access to your YouTube history, Gmail or other Google data. Vercel hosts this website and the analysis worker.
AI processing
Our analysis worker sends the transcript text, and for the final check the video title and channel name, through Vercel AI Gateway to one AI provider that hosts the model we use. Depending on availability, this is currently Baseten, Fireworks or DeepInfra. The text is also subject to Vercel’s and that provider’s data-handling terms.
Payments
Paddle handles checkout, billing details and subscription management as merchant of record. SponsorSkip does not receive or store your card details.
On your device
Preferences, transcript searches and local corrections remain in Chrome storage until you clear the extension’s data.
Website analytics
If you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics measures website visits, referring websites and clicks on beta, store and support links. We exclude authentication pages, URL queries and form contents. Advertising personalization is disabled. You can withdraw consent using “Cookie preferences”; your choice is saved on this device for six months.
