Can Edge and Brave use Chrome extensions?

Generally yes. Both are built on Chromium. Brave installs extensions directly from the Chrome Web Store, and Edge offers its own Edge Add-ons store and can also allow extensions from other stores. Whether a specific extension behaves identically depends on the APIs it uses, such as sign-in or side panels.

That is why we list SponsorSkip as “not tested” rather than “works”: it uses Chrome's side panel and Google sign-in, and we only claim support where we have tested it.

Safari on a Mac

Safari doesn't run Chrome extensions. SponsorBlock for Safari is the official option and also covers iPhone and iPad from the same App Store purchase.

Firefox

SponsorBlock is an official Firefox add-on on desktop and Android. SponsorSkip is not available for Firefox.

Before installing from another browser's store

Look-alike extensions are common. Check the publisher, the number of users, recent updates and the permissions, and prefer links from the developer's own website or repository.
